Established in 1986, the ANCA Leo Sarkisian Internship program is named in memory of the late ANCA Eastern Region community leader, Leo Sarkisian.

The program provides students and activists the opportunity to participate in an eight-week intensive internship in Washington, D.C., designed to give them the skills to effectively advance issues of concern to the Armenian American community on the federal, state and local levels.

The ANCA Leo Sarkisian Internship program has equipped hundreds of alumni with the tools necessary to continue the work long into the future.

In an effort to provide for the internship expenses and expand the number of annual program participants, the Leo Sarkisian Internship Endowment Fund was started in 2019 to secure the financial future of all Eastern Region participants and ensure the continued participation of interns from across the region.
